Our sustainable disposable palm leaf plates are made from palm leaves from India. It is important to us that we work with verified factories that manufacture our palm leaf products under fair working and payment conditions and, of course, to the highest standards. In the production facilities, palm leaves are left over from betel nut palm plantations. In most cases, the palm leaves are used as natural fertilizer or even just thrown away. In order to give the palm leaves a second life according to the “waste-to-value” principle, disposable tableware is made from the palm leaves.

For our disposable plates, the palm leaves are washed, tied together and the whole palm leaf is dried. We make sure that sustainability is also a major aspect of the process, which is why the water used to wash the palm leaves is also collected and reused to irrigate the plantations.

The leaves are then pressed and cut into the desired shape. This is how you get your palm leaf products, without any chemical additives and because there are only a few work steps, only a small amount of energy and resources are used.
